Girls Varsity Basketball · Ontario Takes Tough Loss Against Brentwood Ending CIF Run


Brentwood, CA- February 24, 2018: The Ontario Jaguars had a great run in the CIF Division 4AA playoffs. That run came to an end on Saturday with a tough loss against number one seeded Brentwood. At the final buzzer, Ontario fell by a score of 43-63. Despite the loss, Ontario made a lot of history this season and they have a chance to continue making history as they will still advance to the CIF Division 4 State Playoffs.

“Hats off to Brentwood, Charles Solomon is a great coach and he came up with a really solid plan to beat us” said Head Coach Chris Emami. When asked about dropping this game, “This does not diminish what we have done this season. What we accomplished and can still accomplish is incredible”.

Leading the way for Ontario was Jazzlyn Johnson with 27 points. “The Brentwood coaches told me she was one of the best guards they have seen all season and that is coming from a team that has faced teams like Sierra Canyon and Windward this season” said Coach Chris.

Besides the leading scorers the following people scored for Ontario: Stephania Franco had 2 points, Julianna Sanchez had 11 points, and Ariana Fealofai had 3 points.

Ontario is 28-3 on the season and now advance to the CIF Division 4 Playoffs “We will see who we match up with when they release the bracket on March 4th” said Coach Chris.
